How parents opt in
A parent opts in to the Mission Control Kids SMS welcome series only by affirmatively checking an unchecked consent checkbox on the phone-verification step of our signup wizard. The checkbox is never pre-selected. Consent is not a condition of purchase or of using the Service.
The opt-in screen our users see, reproduced here exactly as it appears in the app:
Mission Control updates by text
Optional. We'll text you a short mission tip each morning, one per day for up to 14 days, on running the household with kids. Built for moms who'd rather be the captain than the reminder.
This is a visual preview only. The interactive form is on the phone-verification step of the signup wizard, available to parents who have created an account.
Message types and what to expect
Service notifications
Tied to a parent's household account. Examples: account or billing notices, security-related messages, alerts that a child has completed a chore. These are sent on an as-needed basis. Security-related messages cannot be turned off while the account is active.
The "daily mission tips" welcome series
An optional educational series for parents who opt in. The series consists of up to 14 messages, one per day for up to 14 consecutive days, sent at 7am in the recipient's local timezone. The series ends permanently after the 14th message. Topics include practical mission-control techniques for running a household with kids of mission-control age. If a parent does not opt in to the welcome series, the series is not sent.
Message frequency
The welcome series sends at most one message per day, for up to 14 consecutive days. Service notifications are sent on an as-needed basis and frequency varies based on the parent's account activity.
Carriers and message rates
Mission Control Kids SMS messages may be sent through any major US carrier, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and US Cellular. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
